Multiple Blasts in Nigeria’s Maiduguri Leave Dozens Dead, Injured

(MENAFN) At least 23 people have died and 108 others were injured in three explosions that struck the northeastern Nigerian city of Maiduguri on Monday evening, as stated by reports.

A spokesperson for the Borno State police said a preliminary investigation suggests that suspected suicide bombers detonated improvised explosive devices at three locations: the Maiduguri Monday Market, the gate of the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, and the Post Office Flyover area.

Authorities quickly dispatched a joint security team to secure the affected sites and prevent further threats. The spokesperson confirmed that normal operations have resumed, although heightened security measures remain in place, according to reports.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attacks.
