Iran Asserts Political Stability Despite High-Profile Losses

(MENAFN) Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, affirmed that the nation’s governing system remains resilient despite the deaths of senior figures in joint US-Israeli strikes, emphasizing that such incidents will not undermine the state’s institutional framework.

Speaking in an interview with a news agency, Araghchi underlined that the Islamic Republic continues to maintain a robust and well-established political order.

“I do not know why the Americans and the Israelis still have not understood this point: The Islamic Republic of Iran has a strong political structure with established political, economic and social institutions,” he said.

He further explained that the system’s stability is not dependent on any one individual. “The presence or absence of a single individual does not affect this structure,” he added.

Araghchi recognized that people in leadership positions can have significant influence, yet reiterated that the system’s endurance is not tied to any single personality.

“Of course, individuals are influential, and each person plays their role – some better, some worse, some less. But what matters is that the political system in Iran is a very solid structure,” he said.

His comments followed Iran’s confirmation on Tuesday that Ali Larijani, secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, had been killed in an Israeli airstrike.

In an official statement, the Supreme National Security Council reported that Larijani died in the attack alongside his son, his assistant Reza Bayat, and several other associates.
