Canada Issues Warning on Sharing Images of Military Operations in Gulf
In a travel advisory posted on the social media platform X, officials urged Canadians to “avoid taking, sharing or possessing photos or videos of military activity or damage in: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates.”
The advisory added that violations could result in fines, imprisonment, or deportation.
Reports note that regional tensions have escalated since February 28, when the United States and Israel launched joint strikes on Iran, resulting in around 1,300 deaths, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
In retaliation, Iran has carried out drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, as well as Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf nations hosting US military assets. These strikes have caused casualties, damaged infrastructure, and disrupted global markets and aviation.
According to a news agency, Iran has launched at least 3,955 missiles and drones in response to the US-Israeli campaign. The United Arab Emirates has been the most frequently targeted, followed by Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan, with Oman experiencing the fewest attacks, as stated by reports.
