Trump says his government is closely monitoring situation in Iran
“These are violent — if you call them leaders — I don't know if they're leaders or just, they rule through violence. But, we're looking at it very seriously. The military is looking at it, and we're looking at some very strong options. We'll make a determination,” Trump told reporters while traveling aboard Air Force One from his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida to Washington, D.C.
Iran has been engulfed in demonstrations since late December, sparked by the steep decline of its currency and worsening economic conditions. The protests have spread widely, creating a volatile atmosphere across the country.
Trump added that he has been receiving hourly updates on the situation, underscoring the level of attention the White House is giving to the crisis.
