SDF Landmine Blast Claims Child’s Life in Northern Syria

(MENAFN) A 13-year-old child died Wednesday when an improvised explosive device planted by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) detonated in northern Syria, according to local news outlets.

The blast occurred in Mushrifat Tal Eltiten, located in the eastern districts of Aleppo, a state-run news agency confirmed.

Tensions Over Integration Deal
The fatal incident occurs amid ongoing tensions surrounding a March 10 agreement announced by the Syrian presidency aimed at incorporating the SDF into state administrative structures. Damascus emphasized the necessity of maintaining national sovereignty while explicitly opposing any separatist movements.

Despite the accord, the SDF has repeatedly contravened the agreement's terms.

Terrorist Designations
The SDF operates predominantly under the command of the YPG, designated as a terrorist organization and identified as the Syrian wing of the PKK terror group.
